Hurstbridge by Night

Strolling through our beautiful Hurstbridge Village with the evening twilight shining on our township I was quite taken aback in the moment at what a gorgeous place we all live in. Picture book perfection.❤️ The traders' doors were closed for the day and the traffic had slowed. The charm of the characterful and endearing buildings made me smile. Proud to belong. Their quiet night setting softly lit and a stark contrast from busy day mode made for some magic window shopping.

I couldn’t help myself and snapped away through most of the village and back, pausing for convos and heartwarming hugs. A few people were about. The Hurstbridge Fire Brigade truck went by, thankfully without the need for sirens. #lovehurstbridgevillage I know many of us locals have those moments and feels — the Hurstbridge Village Community Group page on Facebook has some wonderful shares and photos from passionate Hursty lovers.

My plan started out purely recreational and very soon became a lesson in mindfulness. As I captured various shops I thought about the shopkeepers, business owners, and their staff, the process of their daily closing rituals. I could see many of their named faces in my mind, often with a twinkle in their eyes and a smile to match.

You may have seen some of the photos on the Hurstbridge Village Facebook and Instagram pages as I have the pleasure of working with the traders, however, as a resident and a customer, the pleasure, convenience, and comfort of the Hurstbridge Village shopping experience remains special for me. I love Hurstbridge.

It’s an exceptional community we have here on both sides of shop counters (yeah, der) and I had a pang (punch in the gut moment) of full appreciation and gratitude for how lucky we are that these hardworking people meeting our needs know us as individuals and, that we’re in such a beautiful part of the world. It takes a village to love a village as it deserves. I think we’re all good at that. ❤️
